Time flew by, and we are ready to bring you some serious yet fun SAWHA information. We’ve got some exciting updates and important information to share with you all. But before we dive into the deets, mark your calendars for our upcoming League meeting on September 14, 2023, at 7:15pm. Oh, and no need to put on your skates, this one’s happening virtually via Zoom. If you are looking for the zoom link, reach out to your team manager, or shoot us a message.

INSURANCE

We are sticking with the same insurance provider, who has been nothing short of amazing to us. But here’s the scoop: this year, you will pay SAWHA directly for your insurance and skip the mess of a separate invoice from Canlan. The cost has been calculated into your league payments.

To make things simple, everyone is being charged a flat rate equivalent to 20 players. If you do not use all 20 spots, you will be reimbursed at the end of the season.

There is a tiny increase of $1.18 per player in the insurance cost this year. But Canlan will continue to offer us a special SAWHA rate, which caps the cost at 20 players (they are so good to us!) If you go over you don’t need to pay for more.

This year the capped rate of insurance for a team of 20+ is $557.60 (includes GST). You’ll see this amount for each team in the league budget document.

For more information on Insurance, we have a couple of downloadable documents.

FEES

The first half of team fees will be due, Monday, September 25th. Please see the 2023/2024 SAWHA Budget and Team Payment Schedule. Please email Jana with any questions at treasurer.sawha@gmail.com

Membership fees will remain at $500. Casino credit is $900 for all returning teams which has already been applied towards referee payments. Also, insurance has been included in this year’s fees as SAWHA will be paying CANLAN directly.

SCHEDULE

The October Schedule for our upcoming season is officially live on our website! You can check it out right here: www.sawha.com/schedule/. A big round of applause for our fabulous scheduler, Kelly, for putting in the hard work to make this happen.
